What should I wear to church?

We invite you come to Woodland just as YOU are. We are very casual, some will be wearing jeans and some will be dressed up a bit more. You might find our Pastor wearing a suit or jeans or slacks and a casual shirt. You’ll see all kinds of people of various ages at Woodland, so if you have a funky hair style or tattoos don’t feel like you need to change that or cover them up before you come.

What should I bring?

If you have a Bible at home, you are encouraged to bring it along. That way, you can take notes or underline things right within your own Bible for your later reference. If you don’t have a Bible, there are plenty available in the pews for you to use. We also show the scriptures up on the big screen at the front of the sanctuary so if you have trouble seeing print out of a book you can read them there.

Where should I sit?

Once you arrive, you’ll be greeted at the door with a smile and a bulletin. From there, you are welcome to sit anywhere you like in the sanctuary.

Will I stand out in the crowd as a new person or be asked to do anything weird?

Rest assured you won’t. We actively work to maintain our sense of a smaller community so don’t be surprised when somebody welcomes you and introduces themselves if you don’t look familiar to them, but outside of that, we are confident that you will blend in right along with the rest of the congregation. We want your time with us to be enjoyable and we will not do anything to put you on the spot, make you feel uncomfortable or cause you to stand out in the crowd.

Is there a Nursery and/or Children's Church?

A nursery is available during the service for your use. We do have children's church during the service for ages pre-K and up. (Children's church runs the same schedule as the local schools allowing the children to have the summers off for fun and vacationing with family.) Your children are more than welcome to stay in the sanctuary with you during the worship service if they prefer not to attend the children's service.

NOTE: Kids Church is currently suspended as we await the Lord to provide us with a new Kids Church Director.

What does the worship service look like?

Our services always begin with welcoming and prayer followed by the announcements. The Worship Ministry Team comes out next to lead the congregation with musical Praise and Worship. On the 1st Sunday of each month we will then offer Communion, you are welcome to participate or abstain at your own discretion. This all is followed by a teaching from God’s Word with relevant application to your daily life. The total worship service lasts about one to one and a half hours. Fellowship with food/snacks in the fellowship hall begins immediately after the service. We encourage you to stay for this also.

Do I have to believe in God/Jesus to come to church at Woodland?

The short answer is... NO! We have people at all points in their spiritual journey sitting in our pews. Some have been Christians most of their lives, some brand new in their walk with Christ and others still who are just exploring faith and aren’t sure yet what they believe. You are welcome no matter where you're at.
Please know that it would be our honor and privilege to answer any questions you might at any point have about church, the Bible or Christianity in general. That’s a huge part of what Woodland is all about!

Still have more questions or want to get involved?

Usually you will see the pastor and other ministry volunteers walking around before and after the service. Don’t hesitate to ask any one of these people. But let's say you’re too shy or can’t find one of them, then you can send an email to woodlandministry@gmail.com and we'll do his best to answer your questions. See you soon!
